Main port of Brazil, responsible for more than 25% of the Brazilian international trade and the greater port of Latin America:  thus it is the Port of Santos.  The competitive differentials, the strategical localization and the commercial advantages make of Santos an important link for the logistic solutions offered by SANSOUTH.

The wharf of Santos locks up the year of 2005 with a load movement of about 73 million tons.  The estimate considers the total verified in the 10 first months, projecting itself the closing of the year analyses of the expectation of others terminals, historical behavior and trends of market.  With the same parameters, the commercial area of the Port Authority esteem that in 2006 the Port arrives at the mark of 81 million tons.

Such growth also demands a jump in the operational performance of the Port, allied to the projects in progress and foreseen of increment in the infrastructure and port expansion, as the construction of the Perimetrais avenues, the Terminal de Granéis  Guarujá - TGG, among others great investments.

To extend the operational performance of the Port of Santos in 2005, only for the terminals installed in leasehold areas, had been applied resources of the order of R$132 million in installations and equipment.  The biggest volume was directed to the implantation of the port security system, in attendance to ISPS Code requirements, the international code of security for ports and boats.
