- Kinds of ships: because of the great diversity of loads, these days there are some kinds of ships incluiding the ones for general load, dry load, with control of temperature, in bulk ships for solid or liquid goods, tank, oil tanker, roll-on roll-off (slopes with individual movements for inside and outside) and door-containers.
- Regular Lines and Not-Regular: regular lines of navigation are those established by the Companies of Navigation. Not-regular lines are those whose ships do not have an established regular route. Its route is closed to the convenience of the Company of Navigation and shippers.
- Freights: the freights still can be quoted in the base of ton or cubical meter or, either, of global form, as it occurs in the shipment of contêineres
- Bill of landing: the bill of landing (BL) is one of the most important documents of the international commerce, being its emission by the company responsible for the transport of the load. The BL is a contract of transport, receipt of delivery of goods and credit note. Normally it is emitted in three ways. The payments of maritime freights are made by the responsible company for the shipment, being able to be made in three ways: daily pay-I pay, to pay and payable in the destination.
